Things seem to be much different than they used to be when it comes to self-publishing and printing books. Traditionally, most writers needed an agent to submit their manuscripts to publishing houses, where they would likely be rejected again and again.

Now, people can cut out those steps entirely and do all the necessary work themselves. While the traditional publishing method is still very much alive, there are more opportunities than ever for writers to take matters into their own hands and pave their own way.

One of those opportunities is through Amazon’s KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) program. Currently, KDP…

The world of weight loss has been around for quite some time. If you haven’t been tempted by the sea of fad diets and quick, ‘effortless’ results, someone around you likely has. Regardless, most of us have been shown those ‘idealistic bodies’, and told hundreds of thousands of hacks and diets that can help achieve it. Our minds have been programmed to see our natural bodies as inadequate, and we tend to long for those hard to reach versions of ourselves that we are constantly being sold. Be it weight loss pills, expensive diets, fancy gym equipment, or chalky meal…

It was roughly a year ago when I witnessed a medium group session in person.

My aunt had done some healing with said medium, and invited myself as well as my sisters and mother to one of his group sessions. She very kindly paid for us, and the date was set.

I had been very excited for the session, although I wasn’t quite sure where I stood in terms of being a believer or a skeptic of the spirit world and those who communicate with inhabitants of the other side.

A part of me always wanted to believe there was…

As a parent, you are your child’s first provider, caretaker, and mentor. With the title of ‘parent’ comes a wide range of responsibilities — big or small — they all count. You may be an excellent, diligent guardian full of endless love for your child of course, but have you ever considered how their nutritional habits will shape their lives? Many parents are so busy trying to juggle their home lives as well as their work ones, that what they feed their children may take the back burner. This is understandable, since nobody ever said parenting was easy.

It is…

There are times when you may feel like everything is moving along nicely, and you aren’t too aware of your internal self. Then, an event in your life happens and after the storm, everything is very still. You may feel stagnant, bored, lazy, or just simply lost. Whether it’s a period of depression, or just a slow time in your life, you aren’t alone.

I have had my fair share of these moments, especially as a teenager. I would have things I wanted to accomplish, then I suddenly wouldn’t have the energy to do it, so I wouldn’t do anything…

Before we get into the meat and potatoes, let me begin with a little backstory. I was eighteen, fresh out of high school and a month into what would be my last summer vacation. I needed more money than what my cleaning side-job gave me. I didn’t have a plan for post-secondary, but I knew that I wanted out of the house. It was time. Then, my sister suggested that I try out her new-ish job. It was a re-branded company — a startup, and I didn’t even know the name of it. I was told the gig was hard…

History and media have always given witches and the craft a bad name. Please, do yourself and everyone around you a favor and erase the image of an old hag with a long nose covered in boils, standing over a bubbling cauldron stirring some green poison from your mind. It’s just an old fictional stereotype made to portray all witchcraft as ‘evil’ and ‘deranged’. However, it is the exact opposite.

What it means to be a witch and physically practice is such a broad term that umbrellas so many different ideologies and elements, that it can be difficult to list…

Many of us have tried to lose weight at some point in time, be it because we are unsatisfied with our weight, or because we are concerned for our health. Either way, most of us have never reached our goal weight because of a few pesky, seemingly invisible weight loss saboteurs. It isn’t because you can’t or won’t ever lose weight, but the process isn’t always as simple as restricting calories and working out.

For some, it takes years of trial and error to find the right algorithm that works for their individual needs. Again, because we are all different…

“What I Eat in a Day” videos are everywhere on Youtube.

Many health-conscious individuals love to capture their meals and share it with their virtual audience, either to promote clean eating, to offer some inspiration, or just because it seems fun. This is a great way for others to open their minds and try new things, however, it also places a heavy responsibility on the shoulders of those who post them — whether they know it or not. Promoting the proper knowledge and advice is incredibly valuable, except if the information is misleading or incorrect. A Youtuber with over a…
